November 202009

An update on my trip to Portland, Oregon… Complete with panic attacks and car phobias! I had a great time though, and got to meet Craig Ferguson, which was probably the highlight of my year. :)

Having defense mechanisms when you feel this feelings build is important for stopping the neurotic tumble I think. If you’re out in public and you feel the dominos start to fall you need something to provide immediate relief.
Something simple like pressing your thumb against your forefinger can help. A lucky charm you can grasp in your pocket can stop the cycle. Chewing a piece of gum, etc. I personally place a small scrap of paper between my thumb and forefinger that helps a lot.

thank you jesus. i thought i was the only one afraid of cars. what a silly thing to be afraid of . im 18 almost 19 and all i have is a permit. i grew up in the city with extremely narrow main roads and am terrified of driving in busy places my street is a main rode with a lot of shoppers walking around we have to parallel park all the time altho i am good at it i hate it. i can drive in the county though. also my upper shoulders tense up and i am left like that for the rest of the day.

    I have the same …
I have the same problem, on trains, in cars (when Im not driving), especially in buses, in airport terminals right before boarding, in waiting lines in stores and other places where I feel like I cant just walk away if I’d wanted to. It’s because I’ve had panic attacks in places like this a couple of times when I was a kid, and now I’m basically worried about getting attacks when Im in these situations, which is also why I am gettnig them. Worrying about panic attacks gives you panic attacks.

I called 911 about 20 times in 2 weeks and went to the hosptital about 10 times. But the point is i was gonna recommend Zoloft (Sertraline) i havent had the worst attacks that feel like heart attacks in about a week and a half after 2 weeks of taking it. And i was having them daily or every other day. And meditation also helps it relaxes ur muscles and gives ur brain a few minutes rest , which when i do it i feel refreshed like ive had the best night sleep ever, its better than sleep .

    Anxiety is worse …
Anxiety is worse than any illness I’ve ever had and I read Dr Claire Weekes book – ‘Peace from Nervous Suffering’ and I have just downloaded the book in audio format, which is great to listen to – opened my eyes to the condition and how it is stress related and is a control issue.

Need any help with it let me know and I’ll send anyone details from the book. Just let me know what you need and if I can I’ll send any help I think you may need.

All the best to Anxiety Sufferers!

haha, I realize I do say that a lot. I don’t think it has anything to do with anxiety, I just don’t rehearse the videos and sometimes I get nervous and use “umm” as a crutch word, a lot of people do it I’ve noticed, especially in video blogs. I have been trying to stop though. :)

NO offense but why do you say umm so much?? I’m not meaning this in a mean way at all. I was just wondering if it was a symptom from your diagnosis?

I get a lot of anxiety when I am in the car with more than one person. I can ride with my husband but when you fill the car up with more people and everyone gets to talking and laughing loudly, boyyyy do I get the anxiety. It is very bad. I’m glad I found your video because now I know I’m not the only one who gets ‘car anxiety.’
